Bitesize Daily wins the Learning on Screen Premier Award

Bitesize Daily, filmed at dock 10, has won the Premier Award at the Learning on Screen Premier Awards. Created to support children's learning during the pandemic lockdowns, Bitesize Daily, 9-10-Year-Olds – Earth and Space, was nominated for two awards at the event that was streamed live on Thursday 28th April.

The Learning on Screen Awards showcase the best in educational film and television, celebrating a wide range of broadcast and professional productions. It also provides a platform for generations of upcoming student filmmakers working with over 200 Higher, Further and School education member institutions.

Bitesize Daily, 9-10-Year-Olds – Earth and Space, was created by BBC Education with Dan Gooding as Executive Producer. Launched on 20th April, 2020, Bitesize Daily was a hugely ambitious project delivering online lessons and dedicated TV programmes to support children in their home schooling during the global pandemic. Tasked with producing two hours of live programming every single weekday, it was pulled together in less than four weeks with filming at dock10 using their virtual studio capabilities. At the end of the academic year Bitesize Daily had received 5.5 million requests via BBC iPlayer.
