dock10 was proud to host the RTS North West Student Networking Day at its HQ1 studio on Thursday, 23rd March. The in-person event was aimed at students studying or living in the region who graduate this year and was an opportunity to explore the many possibilities offered by a career in television.
The day covered a range of subjects to inspire and encourage entry-level talent. It included panel discussions that gave an overview of entry-level roles and offered useful tips and advice, while workshops and networking with key industry professionals based in the North West enabled the students to interact more closely with specialists in a chosen genre or area.
The Royal Television Society is an educational charity promoting the art and science of television. The RTS North West Centre runs a programme of lectures, workshops, masterclasses, awards and social events throughout the year. Its events include exclusive screenings, talks from leading industry figures such as Jimmy McGovern and the annual RTS North West Awards, which celebrate the fantastic work coming out of the region.
Cameron Roach, Chair of the RTS Northwest, said: "A BIG thank you to all of our industry professionals, masterclass hosts, and panel speakers. And huge thanks to dock10 for supporting today's event. Very reassuring and exciting to see the next generation of talent emerge..."
