dock10 has recently given its support to the latest event for Rise, an organisation committed to championing the broadcast careers of women in the regions. The event brought together the media technology community for a lively evening of presentations and networking.
The event included a panel session focused on some of the inspirational women working in BBC Children's & Education, including Sophy Jacob, Head of Business, Erin MacTague, Operations Manager and Co-Chair Women at the BBC Salford, and Lydia Mossahebi, Head of Content Commissioning for Digital. The panel talked about their careers to date, shared their industry experiences and discussed the opportunities for women in the corporation.
For the past six years, Rise has brought together women in the broadcast space across operations, technical, sales, marketing and management. It has successfully run five mentoring schemes and supported over 150 mentors and mentees, driving the knowledge, confidence and career paths for many hundreds through awards and events. dock10 is deeply proud of its regional roots and diverse team of talent and continues to support Rise as it encourages more women to aim even higher in the broadcast industry.
